Josephine Pouf in Multi

This intricately patterned pouf is one of three pieces to comprise our collaborative capsule collection with Rinck. Each needlepoint design is rooted in a shared desire to reinterpret the past with humility and creativity, reflecting the unconditional love for decorative arts that unites Rinck and Fromental.

The design balances heraldic tradition, classical motifs, aptly named for the Empress Josephine Bonaparte. The trompe l’oeil drape has a linen fold effect; the most popular panelling motif in traditional oak-panelled rooms, and a nod to Rinck’s heritage of carved boiseries. On the platform is a crown of wheat sheaves and adorning the base, a tiger pattern drawn from an Art Deco carpet peering out from underneath the trompe l’oeil drapery
